3-DAYS AMBOSELI / TSAVO WEST

0530hrs after breakfast, an early morning departure takes you south through Mombasa and then towards Voi, capital of the region. From here you head northwest on the main Nairobi Mombasa road, passing through villages like Mtito Andei the arid boundary of the land of the Wakamba people and Makindu until you reach the busy outpost of Emali, You turn off the main road here, travelling south, heading for Amboseli National Park, at the foot of majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, home to a wealth of wildlife but particularly known for its big herds of elephants. By late afternoon you'll reach Ol Tukai Lodge for a late lunch. This lodge will be your base for exploring Amboseli National Park, which has dramatic views of Africa's highest mountain Kilimanjaro.
1600hrs depart for an afternoon game drive in the park, returning later for dinner and overnight stay.

0845hrs an early morning departure takes you east, across the spectacular Shetani lava flow, reminder of the molten outpouring that spilled down the scenic slopes of the nearby Chyulu Hills over the last three centuries. A zigzagging road through scrub thorn and acacia leads you into Tsavo West National Park, which, together with Tsavo East, forms the largest of Kenya's Parks. Spotting game as you go, you'll reach Ngulia Lodge perched on a slope of the Ngulia Hills, rising 2,000 feet from the plains below. The lodge experiences a fantastic phenomenon in October and November each year, when millions of migrating birds, flying over Kenya on their south, are disorientated by the Lodge's night time lights and come down low in their thousands an unforgettable spectacle.

16h00 you will go for the afternoon game drives with a visit to the Rhino sanctuary, returning to the lodge later for dinner and overnight.

0700hrs buffet breakfast will be served at the lodge. 08h00 after breakfast check out of the lodge and head out on a game drive in Tsavo West National Park, one of Kenya's original national parks, proclaimed in 1948 and known for its red coloured elephants. You will visit Mzima Springs, hidden in a clump of acacia and palms. Originating from the top of Kilimanjaro, this water is home to fish, crocodiles, and hippo all visible from a unique underwater observation post. You'll later drive out of the park and eventually hit the main Nairobi Mombasa road and head to Voi, capital of this region. You'll head across the Taru Desert, wild and waterless until you reach Mariakani, where the scrub bush begins to give way to palm groves just a hint of what lies ahead. Within a short while you'll pass through Mombasa and get a glimpse of its busy port as you travel north, reaching your luxury hotel by lunch time.

2 DAYS TSAVO EAST & SALTLICK SAFARI
0700hrs depart your hotel and drive north towards the vast wilderness of Tsavo East, Kenya’s oldest and largest park. Turn off the highway into the park through Bachuma gate and proceed for game drive en-route to Voi Safari Lodge for lunch.
It has a spectacular hillside position with fabulous views across the surrounding plains thus the lodge is perched high on the edge of a rocky hillside overlooking the vast expanse of Tsavo East with the scenic 300 kilometre long Yatta Plateau Yatta Plateau in the background. Additionally, this comfortable lodge offers spectacular views of the park and its multitude of wildlife. Lunch will be served at Voi Safari Lodge.
After lunch depart the lodge and drive westwards through Voi town.
Your drive through sisal plantations takes you to Taita Hills Hilton Wildlife Sanctuary arriving late afternoon. Check in and proceed for a game drive in the sanctuary. The sanctuary comprises of 17000 hectares of rolling savannah, dramatic rock outcrops and wooded plateau. Saltlick Safari Lodge where you will be spending for the night, is an unusual building situated within the sanctuary. It is specially constructed on stilts for full viewing of animals. The walkways, tunnel with bunkers and special windows for close-up viewing of the game at the floodlit saltlick at night may add an exciting dimension to your stay.
Saltlick is a place, which attracts animals that come to wallow and lick salt.

Tsavo is Kenya’s largest National park (20,000sq. Kms) and is actually split into two, Tsavo East and West. The scenery is spectacular, and so is the wildlife – Tsavo is particularly known for its “red elephants”, coloured that way because of the red soil. But you will also find rhino, a variety of plains game and if lucky a pride of lion as well as cheetah.

1000hrs check out of your lodge and eventually leaving the park, you will join the Mombasa-Nairobi highway as you head for Mombasa.
You will pass across the Taru desert, wild and waterless until you reach Mariakani, where the scrub bush begins to give way to coconut palm trees – just a hint of what lies ahead. Within a short while you will pass through Mombasa and get a glimpse of its busy port as you head to your base hotel by early evening.
